There are some pretty tall scope bases that appear to have enough material for such a thing. I think it would have to be steel rather than aluminum so the slot wouldn't get goofed up when tapping in the steel carbine sight. I'm sure more than just me would buy a few. I'm thinking if nobody makes it somebody here has to have a milling machine and I would be more than glad to pay to have one made. It has the first variant of the M1 sight with the L flip style but it could be swapped out for the later more adjustable sight no problem.Īre there any current companies offering such a thing? It is absolutely perfect to me. You can still find a picture on Sportsman's Guide if you look up replica M1 carbine sights for 10/22. Years ago there was a company that manufactured a base that had a milled dovetail slot for regular GI M1 carbine rear sights. A viable option would be to find somebody who would sell one of the Eagle made Zephyr rear sights but even that leaves me feeling that it would be incomplete. Again, Tech Sights and NDS sights look way out of place to me. I'm looking to buy the barrel from that model as the front sight looks much better than a tech sight IMO. Prior I had one of the aftermarket stained hardwood sets but I prefer real walnut so thats what I got. I bought one of the talo 10/22 M1 carbine stocks. I have been pondering for quite some time on a solution to a problem I am having.
